EXHIBITION INFORMATION FOR ARTISTS

Please read this important information before filling out this artist application. Please note that there is a $25.00 application fee. After submitting your biographical information and paying the application fee, you will then be able to upload images of example work at any time through your online account.
Criteria:
  • Western subject matter, broadly defined
  • Original work
  • Etchings, monotypes and photographs in small editions may be considered
  • Any medium
  • No artwork previously displayed in the Denver metro area in the past year
  • No artwork pre-sold
Number of Works:Each artist may submit one (1) to three (3) pieces of work. All art work must be exhibit-ready. Artists may also submit one or two pieces (mini) for the silent auction.
Sales Proceeds:The Coors Western Art Exhibit and Sale is produced by the National Western Stock Show and benefits the National Western Scholarship Trust, which annually provides college financial support to our next generation of agri-business and rural medical leaders.
Display of Art:Professional services will be provided for exhibition design and installation, and the exhibit is in a secured gallery.
Event Coordination and Public Relations:A public relations professional will manage the public and media relations, and a professional coordinator will manage the special events, exhibit and sale.
Selection Process:Selection of all artists will be made by a professional curator. Artists selected for the Show are not guaranteed they will be asked back in subsequent years.
Applications:Deadline for consideration in the 2015 Exhibit is April 20, 2014. You can submit up to 10 examples of your work for review. Such examples do not have to be the pieces intended for the exhibit.
Final Art Work Due:If you are selected for the 2015 Exhibit, all art work must be received at the National Western Stock Show, Coors Western Art Room by the end of November 2014.
Sales:Art work is sold at a retail value set by the Artist. Artists receive 75% of that price. A 25% commission is retained by the National Western Stock Show. (Subject to change prior to the 2015 show.)
